My plans to start the month strong were hampered by illness. We are all better now except for me. But with a good rest tonight I should be good to go for tomorrow.

I tested the satellite test yesterday and it worked, it is messy, and I have only 160-character limit per message. If I use this in the field, I will need to get creative because of the limitation.

This is going to be a short article so I may get some rest.

Not sure if I will bring back my short daily journal log as I did before.

It has been a year to this day since I have stopped updating this site. A lot has changed, and my life has become more of a routine. This is not a bad thing. It gives me more time to do things I like to do.

My hiking / camping trips have been stopped since September of last year. My car’s transmission died and having it replaced was a mess. I got my car back at the beginning of the year none functioning. I ordered a new car a week ago and now I’m on a waiting list to get one. They gave me a six-to-twelve-month ETA. In the meantime, we are looking to purchase a clunker. It just needs to last a year at most. Once we get one, I will be able to gain access to the mountains and do some winter camping.

I have been working on a side project on being able to post to this blog via Satellite when I am out of mobile phone range. Going to start testing out the system tomorrow at the earliest. So, if you see some strange posts, they will most likely be the test.

I will also be testing out converting the text to voice for a podcast. It will be an automated process at first, then move to me simply talking on a mic. This week I will start to slowly role out articles on local hikes and what I have done to change my habit to a healthier living. I’m going to start cutting back on sugar this week. I am expecting to develop a headache because of it. I will explain more in another article on why and how.

Purchased more home improvements stuff. I should be able to complete a few more things in the house. Nice sunny afternoon, Had heavy rain throughout the morning. Should have no rain for a few days.

My new MTB full face helmet arrived today. It looks good. Fully adjustable and I should be able to wear a beanie with the helmet. Can’t wait to get out to hit the road or mountains.

It rained all day today. Dark and gloomy like what people think Seattle is year-round. Did my normal routine at home. Worked and did laundry. After I picked up the kids at school, we played Animal Crossing together and ate dinner.

Drove to the office to work from there. I saw 5 other people there. Even talked to two of them. I need to find something to read during my lunch break. I just sit there looking down through the window watching people walking around.

I went to Rattle Snake Lake for a bike ride. The place was packed full of people. The place was covered in snow and ice. I had to bail off because my friend had a flat and I went to help. He got home safely with the car.

Spent the morning repairing the bike for tomorrow’s trip. Replaced parts and fixed the front fender with some scrap metal. I finished the day watching Disney’s Soul movie. Good movie.

Work went very well today. Huge improvements across the board. I am happy with the results. I spent the rest of the day with the kids playing games and watched Plan 9 from outer space with my son.

Formulated a new process to improve my work grade. I did better than the last few weeks. Still refining the process. It should be allot better tomorrow than today. I find it fun planning new processes.
