Took my bike for a test run. Blew out the tire. My fault, I pumped it up with too much air. Repaired it and installed a mirror. Bike can go to 32mph with ease. Getting use to it.

Cleaned out the house. We have been busy with camping / work and the house got a little cluttered. Went swimming, pool was 70°F, which is warm for this time of the year. Going through all the pictures from the trips.

Work went well. After grocery shopping I went to a hardware store to pickup some parts for the bike. I need to make a power bank for the electrical system. Should have it done by Tuesday and ready for the trip on Sunday.

Used my breaks and lunch to get the wiring done so I could ride the bike to my son’s school to pick him up. Bike handled superbly. Acceleration was amazing. After dinner I took it for a cruse all over town. Did very well on steep hills.

Started to build my all wheel drive bike today. I have installed my rear tire with re-enforcements to prevent the motor from slipping. Will install the electrical and wiring tomorrow. Want to test it out before Friday.

First day truly back home and back to work. My new battery and rear motor for my bike arrived. Will start the install later this week once all the camping gear has been washed and stored. Should go up steep hills with ease.

Packed up first thing in the morning. Headed out by 9:30 am. The drive home was mostly uneventful. Both kids weren’t feeling well but made the best of the situation. They were both tired from all the activities they have done on the trip. It’s amazing how energized they became after driving to McDonalds to pickup some Happy Meals. Once home the weather was cool, dark, and cloudy. A drastic change from what we had in Republic, WA. We unpacked an started to wash everything. We will need to wash and pack most of the stuff for next year use. From here on in we will be camping in Yurts, Cabins, Fire Lookouts and Vacation Housing at Parks.
Took a long deserved shower. Headed to bed at 8:30pm to read. Went to sleep a hour later.

Started the day again with a morning swim. Water isn’t as clear as the first day I arrived, but the water is much warmer at 72°F. Walked arround taking some pictures of the area while the sun was low in the horizon. My daughter lead me to a spot where she found some turtles on a previous venture. Sure enough we saw 2 turtles. Small little guys laying on top of the algae bloom. A trail was near by so we headed down it. The path lead over the hill and down a small valley. We didn’t come across any animals but did find some artifacts when the area was built by Job Corp during the Great Depression. An old bird watching stand that can hold 12 people. The wood aged with reddish hues and black wood grain. Once back to the camp site we enjoyed breakfast and played cards till the afternoon. I took a nap for an hour. Kids woke me up wanting to go snorkeling with me. We suited up and went swimming. I noticed the skin on my hands are very dry from swimming in the lake. The small shells in the water denigrates into small grains, much like sand if you try to pick them up. But the ones on the shore line are sturdy as you would expect. I spent most of the time under water taking pictures and some videos of fish and algae.
Afterwards I headed into town to pick up some steaks and a bag of ice. Made some Rice a Roni and pan fried steaks. We managed to polish the plates clean.
Took another trip on the trail with my daughter. We did manage to see two deer on the trail. The took off pretty quickly into tree line. We continued further and found no more wildlife. On the return trip back I found deer tracks across the trial. So I follow them to a deer path with scat on it. I kept on the path until I found the group. They were started and so was I. Didn’t think I would see so many. I started to take pictures from a distance. Most of them slowly walk the path way from me, but a few stay behind watching me. Once the others were no longer in site the rest slowly went up to meet them. I got what I came for and headed back to the main trail and back to the camp site.
Stay up to watch the star for the last time of my stay. Clear beautiful skies. No light pollution to obscure the night sky. Saw quite a few artificial satellites. The Milky Way was easily seen.
Headed to bed at 10 pm to get some rest for the return trip.

Up and out of bed at 8am. Sun was rising and the Moon crossing the westerly sky. Went for a morning swim in the crisp cool morning with my son. Water was about 64°F and crystal clear. Saw a group of playful Otters swim by. Enjoyed Pan Cakes and bacon for breakfast. Watched the kids riding arround the camp grounds perched on the hill we are camping on while drinking a cup of hot cocoa. Ran arround with them playing tag before lunch. Made some hotdog for lunch and got ready for out trip into town (Republic, WA).
Once in town we pick up some supplies and enjoyed a scenic walk. Allot of historical building . We opted to go in search of some fossils in the north side of town. My littlest found three fossils in a short period of time. Nice leaf fossils. I managed to find two . One was a cross section of a Sequoia tree seed and the other something that is equivalent to beauty bark. The rest of the family had a nice haul.
Back a the camp ground we went snorkeling in the swimming area. I only managed to find a watch face and a piece of sharp plastic the whole time I have been here. We made noodles for dinner and played some cards. Teaching my kids Black Jack. They are picking it up pretty quickly. I took a nap so I can stay late into the night to star gaze. I didn’t see any shooting stars, but I did manage to see a bright flash of light next to a star then a second weaker flash. Not sure what it was but it was intriguing no the less.
Heard the sounds of something hopping out of the lake. I couldn’t see what it was in the dark, lightless surroundings. What ever it was, I heard it go back in before heading to bed.

Up at 4 am to start my 5.5 hours drive to Curlew Lake State Park. Watching the sun rise over Central Washington stunning. Everyone in the car was asleep so I had a chance to watch it in peace. Arrive in Republic, Washington just past 10:30 am. Nice, very clean little town. Walked arround to see what the amenities they had. Went shopping for food, forgotten items, and some nick naiks. Headed the last 9 miles to Curlew Lake State Park. We setup camp on a hill overlooking the lake. Absolutely beautiful view. I had a refreshing swimming before dusk to rejuvenate me from the long drive and camp setup. Stayed up to watch the stars move across the skies. Almost fell asleep outside under the starts. Headed into the tent to get some rest.
