Packed the car and drove to Dash Point for Thanksgiving. I rented a cabin there for two nights.  We had issues accessing the cabin and had to go to the Camp Volunteer to get the cabin code. Once we unpacked, we were tired and went to bed. Tomorrow should be a beautiful day for a hike or bike ride.

The new guy at work is getting better. He picks up things pretty quickly. Overall, work went well.

After work I cleaned everyone’s clothes including bedding. I need everything washed so I can back the kids’ clothes for camping. My wife is making pastries for Thanksgiving. They smell delicious.

I am doing my goals for December. To get them done I have a lot of small things that need to be completed by then.

I spent the day at work focused on training the new guy. He will be starting doing live customer support next week. The responses he provides are good. He will get better after doing a month’s worth of tickets. He is excited and full of energy. I am expecting a lot from him. He will need to perform well to be successful on our team.

Me and my son did the early morning grocery shopping for this week, including food for Thanksgiving. I watched some shows on NHK then took a nap while the kids watched Zootopia. I took it easy today and purchased another fake plant for my home office. It looks good. I really wish I could get real plants. But the cats will just kill it by eating it.

Took my son and his friends to Round One to play some games. We were there for four hours. Next time it will be for two hours. 4 hours is too much. Everyone was exhausted including me. Once I got home, I watched tv and took a nap. Later we watched Disney’s Hunted Mansion. I enjoyed it, it was a fun movie to watch.

Work from home. The kids have short days and are home earlier than normal.  I did little today at work. I got the basics done but that was about it. After work, we jumped on my bike and headed to the park looking for Pokémon. The kids were in the trailer while I rode around the park. It was fun but cold. They had blankets and instant heating pads to keep warm.

Later we watched TV and folded clothes. For dinner we eat soup. We read books before bed.

Stayed working overtime in the office in a meeting. A lot was discussed but and had some ideas that I think will help resolve the issues we are having. I just need some time to put it together. The rest of the day I did some household duties, moved things around in the home office, and watched tv.

I tried Microsoft Loop to see if it would help my workflow but can’t find it useful to what I do. Tomorrow I am going to see if anyone on youtube uses it and how. It looks cool and I just don’t understand how to use it.

I drove to work through some fog. It cleared up closer to Bellevue. The team isn’t doing well on average. I need to see why two of the team members started to do poorly. Hopefully, it is something simple.

I have a few projects I will need to add to my list. I’m going to spend tomorrow morning getting everything organized and time block my week to allow me to do the extra work. I am getting bored at work and need some new challenges. What my team really needs is a place so we can all build an internal technical KB that we build. A lot of the KIs (Known Issues) are great but we miss quite a few of the basics when we rush things. It would be great for new agents to have this list.

I headed to the office on this dark rainy morning. Work went well. I must have talked to the Director for 2 hours today. An agent on the team received a nice pay raise. He deserves it. All his metrics are to company expectations or higher in some areas. He just needed a little guidance to get there.

The training of the new guy is going well. I am having him install and configure his workstation to make it easier for him to do tickets quickly. When I started no one gave me this information. So, I am instructing him in all the tricks I know so he can be successful and less stressed when he starts. I think he will do good.

I got home and watched some tv and talked with the kids while my wife cooked for us. Before bed me and Tori played Uno. I won every game for the first time in many years.
