I drove to work through some fog. It cleared up closer to Bellevue. The team isn’t doing well on average. I need to see why two of the team members started to do poorly. Hopefully, it is something simple.

I have a few projects I will need to add to my list. I’m going to spend tomorrow morning getting everything organized and time block my week to allow me to do the extra work. I am getting bored at work and need some new challenges. What my team really needs is a place so we can all build an internal technical KB that we build. A lot of the KIs (Known Issues) are great but we miss quite a few of the basics when we rush things. It would be great for new agents to have this list.

I headed to the office on this dark rainy morning. Work went well. I must have talked to the Director for 2 hours today. An agent on the team received a nice pay raise. He deserves it. All his metrics are to company expectations or higher in some areas. He just needed a little guidance to get there.

The training of the new guy is going well. I am having him install and configure his workstation to make it easier for him to do tickets quickly. When I started no one gave me this information. So, I am instructing him in all the tricks I know so he can be successful and less stressed when he starts. I think he will do good.

I got home and watched some tv and talked with the kids while my wife cooked for us. Before bed me and Tori played Uno. I won every game for the first time in many years.

Me and my son went to the mall for our morning walk. It is raining but not bad. We hunted Pokémon with his new Pokémon Go Button. The old one I have, malfunctioned, and just buzzed until the battery died. I walked the whole mall, and I noticed a dark tan coat that I wanted. It was priced okay and wanted to go home to see if I could find a better price. After arriving home, I did some research and found the same style of coat for 99 dollars at Macy’s. So, we jumped back in the car and headed back. They didn’t have a size the fit me. It was either too big or small for me. I found another one that was make out of Cashmere for a little more. It was softer and had a nice cut. It also fitted me right. I bought it with a red scarf. It looks good and the red gives it a pop of colour. For a treat we went to Round One to check out some games.

After we arrived home from the second trip to the mall, I watched Seattle beat Washington Commanders. It was a fun game to watch.

I took the kids with me for my early morning shopping at the grocery store. It was very windy and heavy rain. After getting food and fuel we headed home with the heat turned up. If we lose power the heater doesn’t work. I have propane indoor heaters incase if this happens. For the rest of the day, we stayed home and played games. I did manage to find a YouTube channel about productivity that really works for me. She uses the same tools I use and had really helpful tips. I spent time changing up my settings and using a lot of what she recommends. This should save time doing emails and scheduling. She also reminded me that you can create email templates. I used to do this for a previous job and forgot about it.
I also made an Excel spreadsheet for my yearly outlook. I need something to plan trips and major items. I am so focused on the weekly and daily tasks I don’t see my major goals and personal things I want to do.

I worked from home today. The kids had the day off and were with me. I completed what needed to be done but I didn’t push myself to do more. Anything new was pushed to Monday. I played Mario Cart with my son and then cooked dinner for the family. It is stormy outside, so we didn’t venture outside. I had the temperature turned up in case the power went out. There are two bins in the Livingroom I could have cleared out, but I choose not to. I went to bed at my normal time.

Worked from home today. The week went quickly. I finally cleared off the office couch. I placed a small artificial grass plant on the desk. It really brightens up the place. I wish I could have a live plant, but my cats just eat them and eventually kills them. So, I have a plastic plant. It still looks good. I didn’t do very much work. I focused too much on the household duties instead of working on things the office pays me to do. I will need to focus tomorrow and get all the things I should have done today and what I need to do tomorrow. But I am happy with how my office looks and will enjoy the space more.

During my lunch break I cleared out all my social media off my phone. At this point Reddit snuck on my phone a week ago and noticed that I have been wasting my time on it. I got rid of X (formally Twitter) a few weeks ago. I got nothing out of it since it switched over to new management. It seems the people are leaving and being replaced with junk.

The only thing that sucks my time is YouTube. I will need to schedule time for YouTube and just not scroll through it wasting time. There are better things I can be doing.

It was a fun day. Today is my son’s birthday. After work I took the family to get macrons and play games at the local Arcade. Afterwards we had dinner at Genko Sushi. My son loves sushi and chose it for dinner.  Once dinner was finished, we headed home and played Mario Cart until bedtime.

I really should take the family out during the week. It was fun and we had an enjoyable experience. It seems we only do things over the weekend.

Work has officially become a routine. I have everything scheduled to the tee. I am finishing two projects, and my team is doing very well. It rained most of the day, so I didn’t venture out during work hours. The sun did manage to show during sunset on the drive home. I did my Tuesday chores when I got home. Tuesdays is the hardest days for me. I just have a lot to do with little hours to complete them, but it makes the rest of the week easier, especially my Fridays and weekends.

The drive to work is typically uneventful. The day before Halloween I noticed a person walking a large dog in a costume. They had a large jack-o-lantern head on with a black tattered hooded robe on. I thought it was pretty cool. This morning I saw the same dog and a lady wearing a white Victorian gown with a long black hooded coat on. I see them around 5:20 am next to the mall. I hope they do it more frequently. It makes my morning.

Work was slow.  I should have done more but felt lazy. I did my work but could have completed some tasks that needed to be done.

Once home we played Agent A together. We finished it before bedtime. It was a fun game that the whole family contributed to solve.  I wish there were a sequel.

Feel well rested thanks to daylight savings time shift. We headed to the mall to check out any place for my son’s birthday party. It looks like we will just have it at the arcade. For lunch we will go to the food court, and I will buy food for everyone. Every kid will have a card with credit on it. This will allow the kids to have more credit to spend on games and not spend money for a room no one will use.
In the evening we played Agent A more. Everyone is contributing to solving the problems. If we are stuck some will come up with an idea, they will solve the problem. It’s great.
