Started the morning to today repairing my phone. The back of the phone on my Surface Duo 2 cracked. While removing a plate so I could add some resin to stable the cracking, I made it worse and caused the whole back to crack. I had to cover the whole panel. It looks okay. I placed a skin over it to cover it up. It works but the only thing I could find was black textured skin. Not ideal but works.

At 10 am I watched the Seahawks lose to Cincinnati. It was close and would have been exciting if they had pulled it off on the last play.

I spent the rest of the day watching tv and taking a nap. I started to help my daughter clean out her room. We started with the old books she had already read. This helped a lot. She is at the age of reading harder books and started to read off a Kindle or just simply gets books from the public library. There is a lot to still clean out, but it helps a bit.

Started the day at 5:30 am to get ready for the busy day. The sky was full of dark clouds and rain. I woke the kids up at 6:30 am to go grocery shopping and head home before the solar eclipse starts. Shopping went uneventful, got this week’s shopping done quickly with no lines to deal with.

Once home, the skies cleared, and I was able to see the sun. We grabbed the chairs and went to the front yard to watch the eclipse. The weather held up until just after the peak of the eclipse. I got some good pictures of it. The clouds started coming in at the end, but I was grateful to be able to see it.

Afterwards we went to drop off the bikes and unwanted items at Goodwill. Once we dropped the items off, we headed to a phone repair shop to see if they could fix my phone. They said it wasn’t possible (due to the part not being available) but gave me some ideas to repair the phone. I am going to fill the cracks up with resin and allow it to harden. Once done to put a skin on top of it and call it good. Tomorrow I will start the process.

In the afternoon, my daughter and I made Halloween cupcakes. They came out perfect. We used to do it when I was working full time at home and was with the kids 24/7.  I’m not sure why we stopped doing it but will continue to bake with the kids. It’s fun and a fantastic way to learn about cooking.

I watched TV and played Uno with the kids before bed. Tomorrow I will start work on the phone and the staging area in the garage. I’m going to help my daughter clear out her room. She has too many things in her room. I can’t even walk in there because the floor is littered with stuff.

I lost another team member today.  In two weeks, we will be down to 3 skilled team members. We will get a greenhorn at the end of this month. I will train him as soon as possible to get him up to speed. After work I paid the bills and got everything ready for the weekend. I have a bit to do for the garage and need to have all my ducks in a row to get them done quickly and easily. Tomorrow is a solar eclipse. I am hoping that the weather opens and will be able to view it.

Fingers crossed.

A good in general. Beautiful day to be outside. I finished mowing the yard and cleaned out the remaining gutters. I made a decision to stop posting on twitter and keep my journal on my blog.

There are many reasons for leaving the x.com platform. But my main reason is that I am writing my blog with the character restrictions on x.com which intern keeps me from fully talking about what is on my mind.

I’ll still keep my account open but will not be posting unless I am referring to an article I wrote on my blog.

Expect longer written daily blogs.

Nice drive to work today. No traffic with light rain. Normal office Wednesday. Do a presentation and go to meetings. Streamlining my work week and creating more documentation for the new techs. I am going to start training a new person at the end of the month. The people that wanted the bikes do not want them anymore. Going to get rid of them by Saturday evening. I’m excited about getting all the clutter out.

I got rid of 2 bikes today that were in the garage for over a year that were for some friends. They didn’t have room but never tried to make room in their storage. So, I told them to pick it up or I will give it to someone that will use them. They were originally mine. I am serious about clearing things out of my house. Tired of it being a large storage unit. My goal for the garage is to use the space to create things. Of even use it to store the car. Crazy, I know.
I have been dedicating more time to clearing things out every week. Moving the declutter staging area from inside the house to the garage. This will bring dramatic change to the area being worked on and move the stuff to the garage where I can easily separate and load it in the car to drop it off at goodwill. I have a lot of empty bins that I can use to sort things out. The change will be good.

Got to work bright and early. I want to start the week strong and get as much done so I will have time for when I work from home to do exercise during my work hours. Going to see if it improves my day. I will also go outside just to get out of the office.

Finish the front yard and mostly the back for winter. Today was my son’s first time mowing the lawn. He had a lot of fun doing it. I find it relaxing to do it and will miss doing it for a bit. I cleared the gutter and installed the new lights on the house for the holidays.

I went to my daughter’s friend’s birthday party at Defy. It’s a trampoline center where you can jump and run around obstacles courses. We all had fun, met a few new parents in the neighborhood.  Spent the rest of the day outside enjoying the weather.
