Another crazy day at work. My trainee had his first call with a customer. He was very nervous and did poorly as expected. Everyone does poorly on the first call. I helped him as much as I could. He seemed really rattled so I gave him the rest of the hour off to recuperate. Tomorrow he will need to do the full hour. After this week he will need to do 2 hours. This will allow him to be more comfortable with calls. It’s a skill he will need to learn. I remember my first call I took, I was scared and couldn’t answer his questions. But after a few calls, it got better and better. After two weeks, it was natural. It just takes time to get your voice and to be comfortable.

After work, at home, we decorated for Christmas. Tree is up and all decorated. The house is lit and windows adorned with decorations. It looks good. We all had allot of fun.

Me and my son woke up around 6 am and decided to purchase some donuts from Top Pot for breakfast. We wanted to surprise the girls when they wake up. We watched TV and played games for much of the morning. In the afternoon I worked on my bike fixing the breaks. New pads and recalibrated them resolved the issue. It is ready for my next trip up the mountain. It snowed a few inches over the weekend. Hopefully the weather is decent on Sunday for a bike ride.

Afterwards I did some house hold duties around the house.

Me and my son read together for a few hours then played games. The girls are both sick and spent time recovering.

Last night the power went out due to the high winds. We went on our normal early morning grocery shopping. Much more people at the store than normal. Afterwards we got gas and headed to the mall to look for some Christmas gifts. We found some gift and found out that the mall does an outdoor snow fall daily. Wasn’t sure what “snow” they were going to produce but we had to comeback later today to find out. The rest of the day we at home watching TV. I took a nap on the couch with two cats on my lap and legs. The purring was too much for me and I fell asleep. After dinner me and my son went to the mall to pick up his sister’s gift and to check out the snow fall. It was fun. The snow was just very small bubbles. It put a smile on our faces and ran around in it. Before bed we read together and called it a night.

Another hectic day at work. Just a lot of work to do. The rain was heavy and there were a few wind gusts. The kids had the day off at school and played games for most of the day. We planned this week’s breakfast and dinners so we could put together the grocery list for tomorrow’s shopping.

We played Out Foxed before we went to bed. It is a fun co-op game.

I had a long day. I started the day at 4 am to start washing the kids’ clothes. This allowed me to focus on work. We are experiencing a large workload right now and we are two people behind. Tomorrow the full team will be back to work. This will help a lot.

After work I started to help the kids with writing. They both are doing poorly at school in writing. Everything else they are doing quite well. So now we write together before we read. After dinner we played connect four and Uno. I finished all my household duties so tomorrow I can fully focus on work. I am planning to get up at 4 am and start work to catch up.

Another foggy morning on the drive to work. Nothing special happened today. Just a normal day. I started to restructure my time and items I do daily. I haven’t spent as much time as I want with the kids as I would like to. I’m going to spend more time reading, writing, and playing games with them on a daily basis. They will include them when I make dinner. It feels like I am doing all these things and not doing the things that matter most to me.

I have removed almost all social media. The only one I have is Facebook. I have family and friends across the globe, and it is the only way we stay connected. I spend about an hour a week on the site, and I am very deliberate when I am on the site. There is a lot of junk on the feed that is not from my friends. I will need to find out how to get them off the stream. Very annoying.

I have lessened my YouTube habit down, but still must improve. Sitting on the couch and watching things I really don’t care about is a waste of time.

Planning isn’t enough, you must execute the plan.

I went into the office today. It was nice being off for 5 days. I feel refreshed and ready to get back to work. There was a lot of catching up, but it wasn’t too bad. I almost completed today’s to-do list. It was ambitious. Tomorrow I will get the last two tasks done. At home I did the normal duties of washing clothes and making dinner. It was a relaxing evening.

I woke up sore and took the day off of work. I need to rest the back and I should be fine for the week. I worked on all the little things I needed to get done by the end of the month. I am caught up with most of the things. I even got a hair cut in the morning. My back feels better, and I will be in the office tomorrow finishing training for the new team member.

Today was a beautiful sunny day up on the hill where I lived. It was foggy in the valley for much of the day.

Was up at 5 am to start my trip to Rattlesnake Lake to start my trip up Iron Horse trail. My objective is to go to Carter Creek Campgrounds. Hopefully there is some snow. The trip was cold. 25°F at 6:20 am. But the sky was clear and you could see the stars. The ground was frozen and there were patches of ice. The rock faces were incased in ice. When the sun started to peek over the Cascades the wind started to pick up. The bike handled well. My cold weather gear held up nicely. My mittens kept my hands nice and warm. I inserted some disposable heat pads in them. Any time I took a picture I had my bare hands exposed to the elements. But then stuck them in my warm gloves. I arrived  at Carter Creek Campground. The trail was clear of any snow, just mostly frost. My breakfast was frozen so I had to use military heaters to defrost them.

After breakfast I went down the train back to the car at 25 MPH. It was a jarring ride down with the ground frozen. 2 miles away from the trail head I had to slow down.

It was a beautiful trip. Hopefully I can do it once again next weekend.

I did the normal Saturday Morning grocery shopping. On the way back from Costco we went to South Center Mall to go to Daiso for some containers. We even bought pretzel bites and walked around the mall talking. Later in the day I worked on my bike for tomorrow’s trip up Iron Horse Trail to see if there was any snow. The rear tire is very wobbly and needed to tighten the spokes and work on the brakes. On a quick test run it was much better. Packed the bike in the car for tomorrow’s early morning trip. I want to start the trip before sunrise.
