My plans to work on my work in my yard were canceled due to rain. I need to prep the pool area so I can erect the pool and start back up my morning swims. I actually miss jumping in 50°F water to wake me up in the morning.

Stayed on the couch watching TV and playing games with the kids. Planned the week out and ordered this week’s groceries. The bike is ready for the next trip. If I have time, I will be going camping or a ride next week.

Another beautiful day in Seattle. We went to Kennydale Beach Park and enjoyed the rest of the day in the sun. It’s a nice small park nestled between houses on Lake Washington. It is a sandy beach, unlike the rocky beaches typical in the Pacific Northwest. The playground is small but great for the kids. The water is a bit cold still to swim. By summertime, the water is nice and warm.

I’m still doing research on abandoned mining camps in Washington. I have located two from 1942 that look promising. The archive prints off the maps are so small I had to buy a times forty magnify lens. I feel like a real sleuth. Once I can confirm the location, I will need to figure out if I have to hike it in or hope fully to bike it in. Biking it in I can carry much more equipment. My goal is to see if I can find any remains of equipment or trash they left behind. I am not interested in finding valuable minerals or stones, just what was abandoned.

I am looking into finding a compact packable metal detector. Small enough to fit in my backpack.

Gathering information for abandoned mining areas. I wish they had higher resolution of 80-year-old maps. I am using a jeweler’s loop magnifier to see if I can make out names and rivers verses trails. I’m finding it fun going through all this information and researching spots I find of interest.

I am planning to do some resonances on Saturday morning for a few camp sites that may or may not be under snow. If the trail is clear enough for travel, I will start doing overnight camping trips on the weekends.

I finally rode my bike to work this morning. Two teammates are on vacation, so we had to divvy up their responsibilities. On the way back home I explored the area around work and then headed home.

I found a few spots next to the lake to read or even write. I ended up at Coulon Park to watch boats and small planes go by. Just a wonderful place to hang out. The tables are shaded and a good spot to write.

Afterwards I headed to Cedar River Trail Park. There is a pier that not to many people go to. A great spot in the summer. You can look into the Boeing 737 assembly plant with the hanger doors open.

A great day to be out. Planning to do more of this on sunny days.

Drove to work today instead of riding. I had an engagement I need to attend to after work. It turned out to be an nice day. Should be sunny for the rest of the week. Planning to get the kids outside after school.

Setting up plans to me everyone on my trip to my home town. I’m going to meet up will a few of my friends I grew up with. Reminiscing about our previous road trip adventures.

It drizzled most of the morning. I am looking for spots to take a break on the ride home tomorrow. The trail is next to the lake, so I think I can find some hidden gems to kick back and read or study. It should be nice and warm with sun and the temperature around 64°F. There are some doubts that I can ride to work tomorrow. I have previous commitments that might interfere with how much commute time I have.

The new handlebar extensions arrived today and have been installed. My cheap old ones broke and needed to be replaced. I use them to mount my gps and satcom on to it. They are used when I am riding around in the mountains.

My new plans are to ride to work on Wednesday and a test ride up a 12-mile trail to a favorite camp site. I want to check to see if the snow cleared and it is passable. If this is the case, I will plan a quick overnight trip next week if the weather permits.

Doing the finishing touches on the bird house. I am waiting for two parts, and it should be up on Sunday. It will be equipped with a camera inside. I might stream it on You Tube if everything goes well.

Started the day spanning out my week. Worked on my bike’s breaks. The bike is ready to go. Planning to take it to work this week and a trip in the mountains on Saturday. Researching on old mining camp to go hiking to.

I did my early morning grocery shopping and walking in the mall before the stores opened. Ate at Jollibee. I had their two-piece chicken and spaghetti for the first time. The chicken was good, the spaghetti was okay. I drove to Federal Way to pick up some items at Daiso for work.
