Road out for 9 miles to a small hidden campsite off Iron Horse Trail. It was a nice ride to the campsite. Saw quite a few small chipmunks on trail. I got up at 2:30 am to check out the stars. It was pitch dark and you could see the Milky Way.

I’ve always liked this section of the trail along Keechelus. I could just imagine the old train puttering through this gap! Haven’t stayed in the campground along there but I’ve thought it looked quite nice. Good job journaling! Half the time that I check the reader in WordPress (out of curiosity, more than anything) to see what’s going on in the blogging world, it seems like your posts are just about the only non-spam in there, for things tagged PNW 🙂 Didn’t used to be that way.

It is a nice section. You can still find rail spikes on the trail. When riding on the trail, espcecially going throught the Snoqualmie Tunnel, I also imagine the train glidding up and over the mountain pass. It’s a beautiful and peacful bike ride.
